Henna Aftercare
There is a lot you can do to make your henna tattoo last for as long as possible. Firstly make sure that once the henna has been applied you keep the henna on for as long as you can. Once the henna dries it will start to flake off. Before it starts to flake off I recommend covering it with a sock if the henna is on your hand or your foot. This will keep the ink'd area warm. Henna reacts with the heat of your body and the more heat the darker the stain. Once the henna starts to dry and flake off you can then start to brush any flakes off with your hand. Do not wash the henna off until the very last moment or use olive oil to get any tiny stubborn bits of henna off. I recommend keeping the henna on for as long as you possibly can. Once the henna has flaked off you will see a stain underneath. This stain will take 48 hours to fully develop.

Another option to keep the henna on for as long as possible and to encourage the darkest stain is lemon and sugar. I can give you a spray of lemon and sugar over your design. This will make it tacky and help to keep the henna stuck on to the skin for the maximum amount of time. It will also help to bring out a very dark stain. You can wrap the area with clingfilm to help the paste stick and to keep the area warm. Again leave the henna on for as long as possible and then flake or wash the mixture off.

You can prolong the life of your henna tattoo by applying moisturiser regularly to delay the skin drying out and the design wearing off. To enjoy your beautiful design for as long as possible!
